Course aims

The aim of this two-day course is to produce trained, competent and confident Dry Needling practitioners with a sound knowledge and understanding of this treatment method. The course will produce individuals who demonstrate an awareness of when to apply the methods of dry needling and when to refer.

You will be introduced to Dry Needling as a method for relieving muscular pain. The course will consist of a combination of theoretical aspects to support the practical application and assessment. You will receive demonstrations, guided and closely monitored practical sessions and individual support from the course tutors. There will be a substantial amount of practical work to ensure you develop a sound knowledge and practical application enabling you to utilise all techniques within your clinical practice.

Course Tutor

Garry Toms is a physical Therapist and has over 30 years of experience working in the world of health and fitness – he has particular expertise in treating clients with sporting injuries, hip and knee replacements and those with injuries as a result of car accidents, to name but a few.

He has an enviable reputation for consultancy work in the field of health and fitness. His work in this area as a sports masseur and therapist has included treating and training Olympic athletes. This includes the famous UK, USA & Russian Gladiator Teams (as seen on TV), representatives from the GB water skiing and trampolining teams and the New Zealand cricket team. In the early 90’s, Garry trained with the elite in the field. Alongside his degree he was awarded an honorary fellowship to the Faculty of Management Science.

Garry is the Managing Directory of two successful companies – Drove House and GT Health Care, situated in the South West of England where he takes the lead in exercise rehabilitation and the treatment of pain and muscular dysfunction. One of his clinics has also included the Somerset County Cricket ground.
